Alice +1 year

Things I did on my birthday:

1) Launch the company's website.

http://www.plus-a-design.com

This thing gave me such a headache, for a while I thought I wasn't gonna make it...(my own deadline).
I'm glad the first version is done and I can let it go for a while. V1 is for the purpose of introducing myself to people. But...as soon as a website is started, it is obsolete. You have to keep updating it. Chinese version is coming...Still so much to do...

Please leave me comments/criticisms/compliments/chocolates etc

2) Spend the day at a resort...it was kinda dusty and the bed was way too hard that I woke up sore all over...not 5 star worthy at all...but I guess it's the best they can do around here...

They had a printing press museum and spas..

Chinese woodblocks...

And a funny tea table..

During my 23rd year I am looking forward to:
Going to Beijing
Going to Shanghai
Living in HK
Being my own boss
Summer
Going to Thailand
Going to Dubai
Going to client's (painter) auction
Spending time with my parents
Spending time with you
Crying less
The Olympics

I was desperately running out of music to listen to so I went on iTunes and got Silent Shout by The Knife, and it's oddly awesome.

It's like a creepy-beautiful fantasy-nightmare. Her voice is Bjork-like and I can't make out 90% of what she's singing but I can't stop listening to it. I like it even more than Deep Cuts (coz the level of creepiness just went up). I wish I had a brother...

We Share Our Mother's Health, animation by Motomichi Nakamura. Weird. (oh and Youtube is unblocked...hallelujah)

A Message

Block
The one thing that really really annoys me is the internet censorship in China. Just yesterday I was checking out cute Yorkie puppy videos and now Youtube is blocked because random violent clips started appearing Sunday with footage of the Tibet riot. While I'm at the computer working, Youtube is like my main and only (thus favorite) source of entertainment/distraction. Shit...

Other blocked sites that affect me, hugely:
www.wikipedia.org
www.xanga.com

There are thousands of Westerners in China, how do they deal with this?
I've been using a proxy to access these sites, but it doesn't work with Youtube!! Help...this is like torture.

Omg is Blogger next?

--Can't wait to go to HK again.

New phone

I bought a phone in HK without much thought. Samsung F338
My first "slidy" phone.
The one I got is assembled in Korea so it has these creepy Korean pop songs/videos/pictures that are locked to the phone and I can't delete. It's great that they come with 2 songs but geez why did you make it so I can't delete em? NOT very happy about that. Oh and the keys are awkward...(but maybe that's cos I have long fingernails?) Grunt.
I think I might be anti Samsung cellphones now...

I've been listening to old Coldplay tracks while I work... I like this song:

And I'm not gonna take it back
And I'm not gonna say I don't mean that
You're the target that I'm aiming at
Got to get that message home

(By the way, can you see that video cos I can't)

Dining at countryside-themed restaurants are 'in' over here, though these are actually IN the countryside, you eat in a little room with big windows, the view:
