Haha. We think Scientology is wack, but that's just cos we've never heard of it before. Just because Christianity is so common and old doesn't mean it's a more believable story. Talking snakes, fruit of knowledge, God sending his son (he's a single parent) to earth, who is actually God himself (but not really). God impregnating some hot Israeli woman (who then marries another man). She gives birth to his son, (who's really God). The he dies, but not to worry, only for 3 days. Then they reunite somewhere above...
Uh...go figure.
Bill Maher was saying something similar to that at an interview. The story obviously sounds ridiculous, and in their brain they know it does, but they are so sure of it.
I once briefly dated a guy who said something like "marriage is not to find joy in each other, but to help each other find god" and the other time, I said "why should I forgive you?" and he goes "because Jesus forgives you for your sins". I'm sure that somewhere inside him, he knows how stupid he sounds, but he still really believes in it. And yet whenever I ask him a question to do with his believes, he doesn't know the answer...
I could go on and on...
So Religulous is not out in HK. But I just saw Jesus Camp on Youtube and now I feel sick...
I wonder how long it takes, or if it's possible, to de-brainwash one of those kids.
